Temperature sensor

A temperature sensor in a spring-applied brake is used to monitor the ambient temperature in order to detect thermally induced changes in braking behavior at an early stage. It measures the temperature near the brake coil or surface and supplies an electrical signal that is used to control or protect the brake. For example, overheating can be detected and the brake can be switched off or controlled in a targeted manner to prevent damage.
