Half-wave rectifier

A half-wave rectifier is an electronic circuit that only converts alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC) during one half-wave (usually the positive one). A diode is used that only allows the current to pass in one direction and blocks the negative half-wave. The result is a pulsating DC voltage that is only present during the positive half-wave of the input signal.
